REDUCE Campaign
Project Type:
Web
Site Design and Development, Production, Ongoing Web Site Maintenance
Services, Web Hosting
Design Criteria:
The REDUCE Campaign has been developed by
the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and American
Pharmacists Association (APhA) to increase awareness of the risks
caused by some over-the-counter and prescription pain relievers.
The campaign, supported by an unrestricted educational grant from
Pfizer Inc, contracted AGMS to design a web presence that conveyed
the seriousness of the matter at hand. Using the television public
service announcement that was created for the campaign as a guide,
AGMS's design leaves no question about the risks associated with
these pain relievers.
Implementation:
Many people don't know that some pain relievers
can cause serious problems ranging from stomach pain to death. 2REDUCE.org
is meant to warn people about the risks involved with these pain
relievers, so the site was designed with the content in mind. Imagery
is used on the home page to help communicate the serious consequences
that may result from the use of these pain relievers, but as for
the rest of the site, the content does all the talking. A simple
design was applied to all of the content pages so as not to distract
visitors from the information that could potentially save their
lives. Drop-down menus make it easy to navigate through the site,
and with a couple of glances, users can tell whether or not they've
missed anything. Let's hope no one misses this site!
