PROCESSOR RESPONSE CODES

Response Code Description Explanation
00, 85 Transaction Approved The transaction was successful
01, 02 Refer to Issuer The customer’s bank has indicated there is a problem with the credit card number. The customer should contact their bank.
04, 07, 35, 41, 43, 67 Hold/Pick Up Card The customer’s bank has declined the transaction and requested that your customer’s credit card be retained. (Potentially lost or stolen card).
05, 06, 51, 63, 65, 93 Declined The customer’s bank has declined the transaction as the credit card number has failed a security check, or the funds have been frozen or depleted
15, 92 No Issuer The customer’s bank does not exist. Check the credit card information and try processing the transaction again.
31 Bank Not Supported By Switch The customer’s bank has declined the transaction as it does not allow transactions originating through mail/telephone, fax, email or Internet orders.
33, 54 Expired Card The customer’s bank has declined the transaction as Credit Card has expired or the date is incorrect.
34 Suspected Fraud The customer’s bank has declined the transaction as there is a suspected fraud on this Credit Card number.
61 Exceeds Withdrawal Limit The customer’s bank has declined the transaction as it will exceed the customer’s card limit.
62 Restricted Card The customer’s bank has declined the transaction as the credit card has some restrictions.
66 Acceptor Contact Acquirer, Security The customer’s bank has declined the transaction and request the Merchant to contact the bank.
82 CVV Validation Error The customer’s bank has declined the transaction as the CVV is incorrect. The customer should check the CVV details and try again.
94 Duplicate Transaction The customer’s bank has declined the transaction as this transaction appears to be a duplicate transmission. No action required.
96 System Error The customer’s bank was not able to process the transaction. The customer should attempt to process this transaction again.
HV Failure HV This means that there was a configuration error when your account was added. Please contact technical support to resolve the issue.
CV Failure CV This means that the type of card has not been added to your account (or there is an account number error). Please contact technical support to resolve the issue.
QD Quit Duplicating This means the processor has already received the batch and is not accepting this duplicate. Please contact technical support to resolve the issue.
RB Rejected Batch This means there is an invalid transaction stored in your terminal preventing your batch from closing. Please contact technical support to resolve the issue.
DHCP Failure, Connect Error Connect Error This means your machine was unable to connect to your network. Rebooting terminal and networking equipment is recommended.
Tampered Tampered Device, Security Violation This means your machine has detected unauthorized tampering with its physical components. Can also be caused by accidental drops, power surges, and other damage. A replacement of the machine will be required.
Chip Read Error Chip Read Error This means the machine is unable to read the chip on the customers card. Check that the chip on the card is free of scratches or dust. Keep attemping to chip until the machine requests a swipe. If it happens with every card, machine hardware malfunctioning.
Tax Rate Tax Rate Commonly prompted when using Commercial Cards. This prompt is optional but if available we recommend you enter the information requested.
PO Number Purchase Order/Invoice/Order Number Commonly prompted when using Commercial Cards. This prompt is optional but if available we recommend you enter the information requested.
