What is PCI Compliance?

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a set of security standards designed to ensure that ALL companies that accept, process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.

Is there a PCI noncompliance fee?

There are fees usually associated with PCI noncompliance. If your business does not comply with PCI standards, you could be at risk for data breaches, fines, card replacement costs, costly investigations into your business, and more.

How do I achieve PCI DSS Compliance?

Achieving PCI DSS Compliance with AGMS is simple! All of the processors that AGMS works with offer their own built in PCI tool that will give you access to the PCI DSS Self Assessment Questionnaire. Simply complete the appropriate questionnaire in satisfaction with the PCI DSS and you will be deemed as compliant for one calendar year, you will need to complete the questionnaire on an annual basis.

How can I update my business information? Such as banking, business address, etc.

You will need to call our office at 866 951 2467 and one of our representatives can update our system. Please note, certain updates do require a signature and documentation in order to process the update. In these case our office will e-mail or fax you the necessary form for signature.

No, you are not! Odds are the price of the terminal will be doubled or tripled in the form of additional fees or erroneous processing rates. We encourage you to send any proposals you've received for analysis to our accounting team at statements@agms.com.

Where can I get paper for my credit card machine?

It's easy! Just go to www.agms.com/paper to restock.

What is our fee for each transaction that we run?

These rates are determined based on a number of different factors such as the type of card being processed (debit, rewards, business etc.) and how the card is processed (in person, over the phone or via internet order). Additional factors that affect the qualification of a transaction are things like providing additional information when processing a payment ( zip code or CVV code) the volume of a particular sale, or the type of business running the transaction.

I recieved a chargeback letter in the mail. What do I need to do?

Make sure you review the letter in its entirety. More often than not, specific instructions are included in the letter explaining how to proceed. If you wish to dispute the chargeback you will want to gather all of the documents you have on file regarding the transaction in question. You can then fax all of the documents along with a letter explaining why the chargeback should be reversed in your favor to the chargeback department. Should you have any questions you can call our offices for assistance.

My processor is AGMS but my statements mention a different company.

While our competitors are contracted by a single bank and therefore only represent the rates, fees, and interests of that bank as they negotiate with business owners; AGMS represents multiple banks. This allows AGMS to represent the business owner and negotiate with the banks on behalf of that business to attain the best rates, fees, and fit for each business.

Technical

I just got a new terminal. How do I use it?

Take a look at the Quick Reference Guide for your new terminal.

We had a power outage and my credit card machine is not turning on.

Try pressing and holding the power button on the machine. If that doesn't work try a different electrical outlet.

My terminal is running slow and is not always responding immediately to button presses.

Batch your terminal to clear out any unsettled transactions. Check all network, phone, and power cables and make sure that they are securely connected to the terminal and their wall outlets with a cable that is in good condition. Restart the machine by holding down the power button until it turns off, and again until it turns back on.

My terminal is still running slow!

It's always a good idea to do a network speed test to see if your internet or network is running slow. You can use a simple tool like FAST.com. If the speed test comes out low (KBPS) try calling your internet service provider for troubleshooting. Although, usually turning it off for a few minutes does the trick.

I'm trying to process a credit card but I'm getting a "Connect Error"

This is type of error indicates that the credit card machine is not properly connected to the internet, phone line or lack of GPS connection. Make sure all cables are properly plugged in to the machine. A call to your internet service provider may be required for troubleshooting.

I locked myself out of the AGMS Gateway.

Do you support Quicbooks?

No problem! Please send a copy of the receipt(s) to requests@agms.com or fax it to us at (214) 491-4401 and we can add it to the next business day batch.

Most likely! We directly integrate to legacy point of sale systems such as Aloha POS, Micros Retail Systems, Dinerware POS and more.
