VERIFONE EMA COMMSERVER UPDATE

Below you can find the steps to resolve the VX520's continuous restart error. If your terminal is continuously rebooting, please follow these steps. Please note that this fix will only be applicable for TSYS merchants ONLY.

VERIFONE VX520 Payment TerminalOption 1 - Prompt

In certain circumstances, when you unplug your Verifone VX520, the machine will automatically prompt you to update. Press Enter for Yes.

Option 2 - Force Update

You can force this update by unplugging your Verifone VX520, when prompted for CommServer or Softpay, press 9, Select Update Now, Enter Password: 1, ALPHA, ALPHA, 6, 6, 8, 3, 1.

Option 3 - Partial Download

When the steps above do not work, you can do a partial download on your Verifone VX520. Follow these steps:

  • From any screen, press F2 and F4 at the same time.

  • Enter Password: 1, ALPHA, ALPHA, 6, 6, 8, 3, 1.

  • Select Download.

  • Group 1.

  • Enter Password: 1, ALPHA, ALPHA, 6, 6, 8, 3, 1.

  • Select Single App.

  • Select Partial Download.

  • Select TCP/IP if you are connected over LAN.

  • Select Download.

  • Select Default Interface.

  • Enter the following IP Address: 209.154.100.063.

  • Enter Port: 38013.

  • SSL True.

  • Enter Block Size: 1000.

  • Enter Heap Size: Empty.

  • Enter Terminal ID: VF255.

  • Enter App Name: VF25.

  • Press Enter until the VX520 begins to download.
